The Beginning

Savline RPG was launched on the San Andreas Multiplayer (SA:MP) platform in August 2022 using the Asiania RPG script with some modifications. In the initial weeks post-launch, the server reached consistent 30s and 40s, before facing hosting issues, issues with rules and roleplay standards, staff issues, lack of development and eventual death.

A half-hearted revival was attempted, switching from RPG to medium roleplay, thus becoming Savline Roleplay. However, continued lack of development and lack of effort resulted in the death of the server. Plans were made for a revival of the server on open.mp and a partnership of sorts with the platform. However, this never came to fruition due to a lack of dedication.

Internal deliberations began, with senior leadership going as far up as the then-Community Leader HellFury, asking for the ownership to be handed over if the incumbent, realdiegopoptart, didn't have the motivation to continue. The ownership of the Savline RP community was signed over to the second original co-owner, Ragnarok, and the other half of the ownership to the Community Leader, now Community Owner HellFury on October 26, 2022.

From there, Ragnarok and HellFury initially set out to see through the open.mp deal and to make it happen.

The Second Coming

We use the term "Second Coming" metaphorically. On November 27, 2022, Savline Roleplay faced a griefing attack on the Discord server. After asking to be given back ownership after destabilizing the community and working for a direct competitor, realdiegopoptart deliberately griefed the Discord server in a bid to derail the community through the use of a backdoor - a bot with clandestine permissions.

As per HellFury's message addressing the community immediately after the attack: "With the exception of the griefer, as this pretty much constitutes a fresh start - all bans have been lifted."

This marked the start of the "Second Coming" of Savline Roleplay.

As Ragnarok and HellFury set out to make open.mp happen, they found people willing to join and assist, most notably former Community Leader, danut. From there, work was done on the SA:MP server and the server was relaunched.

However, as the server remained dead and failed to attract any interest, it eventually became evident that SA:MP in any form was not a viable future for the community.

It was announced in January 2023 that Savline Roleplay would be moving to Multi Theft Auto: San Andreas (MTA:SA).

In May, Savline RP announced that it was on track to releasing its MTA:SA server! Unfortunately, the server was still off for some time as it proved to be a much bigger job than initially expected. However, the Savline RP team never faltered, and as more and more developers joined the Savline RP development team, they continued to progress and progress until the community became what you see today.

As Savline RP continued to market itself and establish itself as a revival of English roleplay on the MTA:SA client, more and more people joined the community, and perhaps for the first time in a long time, Savline created real hope for the revival of English RP on the platform, as perhaps the only server really fighting to revive English roleplay on MTA: San Andreas in 2023.

The Third Coming

Savline Roleplay was still lacklustre at this point in time. The community had released MTA 1.0.0, but ultimately it proved to be a mere Owl reskin and didn't take off. It had numerous script and database issues, bugs and other problems. However, this was merely the start of the future of Savline Roleplay, which we, in a twist of irony, have coined "The Third Coming".

Four new Community Leaders were appointed by Community Owner HellFury - Gruia, Yaan, Rasta and Wuskie (Nick). Furthermore, Kiki returned to the team and revived the VC:MP RP project. With MTA:SA RP 2.0.0 and VC:MP RP underway, Savline only continued to move on an upward trajectory as Wuskie and HellFury brought Petacloud assets into the Savline fold. Petacloud was originally a hosting provider started in January 2020 by Nick A. (WuskieFTW) and Henry C. (Skyroe) that offered cheap and reliable servers. Petacloud got into gaming and created servers on GTA based games and expanded to different genres such as Left 4 Dead, Minecraft and Mafia: Lost Heaven. Due to a lack of time, resources and lack of funds, things started to deteriorate and eventually stopped all server work. With Nick being promoted to Community Leader by HellFury, and bringing Petacloud's assets into the Savline fold, the two men brought about a rejuvenation and revival of Petacloud's legacy and energized the future of Savline Roleplay. The Savline team began setting up the old PetacloudMC server and thus preparing SavlineMC.

In even bigger news for Savline Roleplay, Wuskie and HellFury got the ball rolling on a unique project that was sure to make Savline Roleplay stand out even more - Codename: NSW. The C:NSW project was created on FiveM, a medium-hardcore roleplay server set in New South Wales, Australia. With custom assets, mapping and features, this project added to Savline's portfolio, truly making it a medium-hardcore roleplay universe. The project continues to be developed, with HellFury, being from NSW himself, working side-by-side with Community Leader Nick to ensure it is a quality experience.

On the MTA front, with Badandy having joined the team, the decision was made to abandon OwlGaming completely and move to Savline 2.0.0 on the MTA platform. Development began on that front, with Badandy and the team working hard to ensure the server's vision was detailed, outlined and everyone knew what features would look like, going forward. The new server was announced with a release in December planned. Badandy continues working hard, side-by-side, with, and as part of, the community leadership, to bring MTA: San Andreas to life, and rejuvenate English roleplay on the platform with a new gamemode, taking advantage of the client's immense potential.

Savline also began to take off with the development of VC:MP RP, with Kiki working on medium-hardcore roleplay scripts that brought a new environment to the platform. Soon enough, BuilderDemo7 joined the community, and through his scripting, modelling and mapping skills, worked alongside Kiki to ensure the server continued to flourish. As the VC:MP team progressed, along with the community leadership, the Savline community signed off on a landmark deal with the Shine o' Vice mod, receiving BOTH official permission AND endorsement from the Shine o' Vice team. This made Savline the only server on the platform to have both permission and endorsement. Savline continues to work alongside the SoV team in bringing their amazing work to the multiplayer and roleplay realms!

As Savline RP continues to market itself and establish itself as an international medium-hardcore roleplay universe, it creates real hope and sets the stage as an international hub of medium-hardcore English roleplay, fighting to ensure that even retro games have a bright future in the multiplayer and roleplay realms.
